Today, we want to share a recipe with all the gluten-free people out there. Here’s a recipe for gluten-free sourdough bread that is both easy to make and delicious:
- 1 cup gluten-free sourdough starter
- 2 cups gluten-free flour blend (make sure it includes xanthan gum or guar gum)
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free sourdough starter, gluten-free flour blend, warm water, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let it sit at room temperature for 8-12 hours or overnight. The dough should double in size.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C) and place a Dutch oven with the lid, in the oven to preheat.
- Once the oven is preheated, carefully remove the Dutch oven from the oven and remove the lid. Dust the bottom of the Dutch oven with a little bit of gluten-free flour.
- Gently shape the dough into a round loaf and place it in the Dutch oven. Cover the Dutch oven with the lid and place it back in the oven.
- Bake the bread for 30 minutes covered, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving
